An important part of the activities at the UNESCO Chair is concerned with education in a broad sense. There are different teaching formats: in seminars and projects in Master’s courses, for examples, questions surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage sites are discussed with early-career architects and planners. Furthermore, the students are taught how to implement the discussed measures.
Further teaching and learning events, such as the Summer Academy held in 2013 in Istanbul in cooperation with local universities, contribute to disseminating knowledge in distant countries and regions and making it applicable there. Many teaching activities are conducted in collaboration with other RWTH Aachen departments and institutes.
