In October 2019 the new Master program „Transforming City Regions” for 30 international students will be launched at the Faculty of Architecture. Chair and institute of Urban Design and International Urbanism is in charge of this 4-semester full time MSc. program.

Taught entirely in English this program will focus on the dynamics of the contemporary cities, the processes shaping their new form and structure as well as on the designing tools which can help to control this urban transformation. M.Sc. „Transforming City Regions” will fit into the framework of current European policies like energy efficiency, climate adaptation or social cohesion having at the same time broader perspective of sustainable development as a background of the study.

The program is being currently developed in cooperation with the group of international experts and institutions. It aims at presenting European approach to urban transformation, urban design and planning, but it will also bring a European perspective into teaching by presenting variety of European contexts and cases. We will offer students a wide range of innovative methods (i.e. on-site workshops, colloquiums) as well as European-wide professional experience.

The team working on the program has built an outstanding expertise in teaching in the international context. This experience will help to introduce new values into program: interdisciplinary and international staff, diversity of approaches, focus on practical skills in the European context, participation in the research projects run at the Chair and Institute.

The students with the bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Engineering or other spatial-related background will be eligible to apply.
